CONDITIONS FOR PLAYING WITH PIANO
One of the unique aspects of our Monasteries is the opportunity to play repertoire of your own choice with piano. At Monastery #2 and #4 you also have the opportunity to play with harpsichord.
Conditions for playing with piano
As we strive to maintain a high quality standard in our lessons with piano, we maintain a number of conditions to ensure that the Academy’s pianist can prepare the piano parts in time.
- We kindly ask all participants to email their repertoire list with piano to academy@cellowerckenzutphen.nl no later than 4 weeks before the start of the Monastery.
- When this deadline has passed, the participant can either choose one movement or piece from the following repertoires:
– C. Debussy: Cello sonata in d minor
– L. Boelmann: Cello sonata in d minor
– Manuel De Falla: 7 Canciones Populares Espanolas
– L. von Beethoven*: Sieben Variation On Bei Männern, Welche Liebe Fühlen, From Magic Flute
* For Beethoven Variations can be chosen up to max. 2 variations.
- Or contact the Academy no later than 3 weeks before the start of the Monastery to discuss additional repertoire options. At this point, we will try to grant your wishes, but we can’t guarantee that we can.
- If the repertoire with piano hasn’t been communicated to either the production department or the Academy’s pianist three weeks prior to the start of the Monastery, we unfortunately can’t provide the opportunity to play with piano. This also applies to late applications, i.e. within three weeks prior to the start of the Monastery.
